A sad and scary story

Not only have wild honeybees mostly disappeared, now the managed hives are threatened by mysterious disappearances.

I've watched their numbers drop up here in Ogemaw county like a rock. Such a shame. I enjoy bees (except for yellowjackets). The loss of these pollenators will be detrimental to all habitats, including our own.

Hey, Cindy - I had to search for Ogemaw County to find out where it was in Michigan - but now I know! I hadn't really thought about bees before I read the first article on this topic a couple years ago, but immediately realized that while I used to see honeybees in the yard all the time as a child, it had been a long, long time since I'd last seen one.
