Baby, baby

Baby killdeer. I've been trying for weeks to get a photo of mama bird as I've seen her around the neighborhood. Then today, I'm out for a walk, and there she is with papa and three babies. Too cute for words.

Hi Jane - I loved your killdeer picture. They were probably difficult to get a picture of -- I had a similar experience on Memorial Day weekend. If you'd like, you can read about it in my blog: http://medlibber.blogspot.com.

How are we to comment on a scene that's too cute for words?
It really is!

Jane - I found out about you through David Rothman's blog. I'm sorry you had to discontinue your Medical Librarian blog, but sure am glad you wanted to continue with your gardening and nature blog. I look forward to reading more of your posts. I am finding it fun to share with others (especially other medical librarians) who have similar interests. Here's to meeting you someday in person -- possibly through MLA. :) And thanks for visiting my blog.

Such a sweet photo. I've been seeing kildeer babies around at the beach too. They move very quickly, and seem very camera shy!

Having them nearby is an unexpected pleasure - the pictures are secondary, but nice as a reminder of the fun of seeing them for the first time.
